Canadian Medical Association

The Canadian Medical Association (CMA) is a Canadian professional association based in Ottawa, Ontario.

History

The CMA purchased advertising airtime from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in the 2020-2022 period.[1]

Following Health Canada's approval of COVID-19 vaccines for children aged 6 months to 11 years old, the CMA participated in an advertising campaign called "Max the Vax" alongside 19 to Zero, the Regional Municipality of York and the Ontario Association of Children's Aid Societies.[2]

Organization

The CMA is the sole member of the Canadian Medical Association Foundation.[3] It is also a member of Organizations for Health Action (HEAL),[4] and is a client of Impact Public Affairs.[5]

The CMA describes Timothy Caulfield as "Canada’s foremost health misinformation debunker."[10] It provides funding to The Canadian Press for health and wellness coverage.[11]
