Agnieszka Knott

Agnieszka “Angie” Knott is a Canadian health nonprofit executive based in Vancouver, British Columbia. She was previously executive director of the British Columbia Chiropractic Association (BCCA) and now serves as founder and principal consultant at Ethica Strategic Solutions.[1]

History

Knott attended Carleton University for her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from 1998-2002, and the University of Warsaw for her Master's Degree in International Relations from 2002-2004.[1:1]

Career

Knott worked as a project coordinator and grant writer at the Amberheart Breast Cancer Foundation from May 1999 to April 2006. During her Master's Degree in Poland, Knott worked as liaison to the Amberheart Foundation at its sister organization, Prodiatera. She secured funding from Susan G. Komen.

From April 2006-June 2008, Knott worked as international program manager for the Pulmonary Hypertension Association in Silver Spring, Maryland. She then became national manager for the Pulmonary Hypertension Association of Canada (the most senior staff position within the organization) from July 2008-October 2015. She served as a communications advisor for the Rare Disease Foundation from January 2016-April 2016.

In February 2016, Knott was hired as communications manager at the British Columbia Chiropractic Association (BCCA), elevating to executive director in January 2018.

Knott filed a lobbying activity report on September 23, 2020, targeting Brian Westgate and Mark MacKinnon (director of strategic priorities and director of professional regulation and oversight at the British Columbia Ministry of Health, respectively) for “advocacy related to health professional regulatory changes.”[2]

Knott received certification as a Chartered Director from the Caribbean Governance Training Institute in November 2020.

Knott filed additional lobbying activity reports targeting Mark MacKinnon on January 14 and 15, 2021, the former in collaboration with fellow BCCA leadership member Liza Kallstrom.[3][4]

Knott left her position at the BCCA in June 2024, going on to found Ethica Strategic Solutions in September.[1:2]
