About Us

White Rose Intelligence is a Canadian research and intelligence firm with a focus on human rights. We harness the power of open source intelligence (OSINT) to gather and analyze facts and data, resulting in actionable information for individuals and advocacy groups alike. Our work is used in both the court of law and the court of public opinion.

Connecting the Dots

In many cases, information on important topics is scattered across many platforms and formats—sometimes behind arbitrary paywalls, or hidden away in portals not indexed by Google. This leaves important knowledge just out of reach of the everyday person, preventing them from making informed decisions about their own well-being.

We work to resolve this by identifying “information gaps” across public platforms and contributing missing information for the benefit of the general public. Our flagship product, the White Rose Wiki, hosts an ever-increasing number of profiles on people, organizations and other topics of interest, serving as the definitive go-to for researchers and curious citizens alike.

Our work in this area also includes contributing to Wikipedia articles, improving Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and improving the interconnectivity of websites which are disparate, but interrelated.

Our Team

Liam Sturgess

Liam Sturgess
Founder and Director

Liam Sturgess is a Vancouver-based writer, researcher and media producer, working professionally in the arts and entertainment field since 2013.

Liam graduated from Capilano University’s Advanced Arts and Entertainment Management program in 2015, and received his diploma in Advanced Audio Engineering and Studio Production from the Nimbus School of Recording and Media in 2020. His extensive work with local governments and community organizations earned him the “Kind Heart Award” from the City of North Vancouver.

After losing his mother to cancer in 2019, and experiencing the impact of Canada’s public health response to the declared COVID-19 pandemic, he joined the Canadian Covid Care Alliance (CCCA) in mid-2021 as a volunteer. With the CCCA, Liam has led investigations into conflicts of interest in public health and government, as well as participating on the CCCA’s Transformation Oversight Group and Government Relations Committee.

Liam acted as secretary for A Citizens’ Hearing in June 2022, helping set the stage for Canada's National Citizens Inquiry in 2023. He co-hosted and produced the popular Rounding the Earth podcast, leading roundtable discussions, investigative reporting and in-depth interviews with a wide range of guests related to the COVID-19 pandemic and civil rights.

From July 2023-December 2024, Liam worked as a consultant for American Values 2024 (now called The MAHA Institute), and as an investigative reporter for its flagship publication, The Kennedy Beacon. In this role, he helped create Policies for the People, an innovative open source policy development platform.

In 2024, Liam founded White Rose Intelligence, a research and intelligence firm focused on human rights through which he conducts research and advocacy projects surrounding the law, public health, and civil rights in Canada and the United States.
