Vital Voices Global Partnership

Vital Voices Global Partnership Inc., also known simply as Vital Voices, is an American 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C.

History

In 1997, then-First Lady Hillary Clinton and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright established the Vital Voices Democracy Initiative) following the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, China "to promote the advancement of women as a U.S. foreign policy goal." The initiative organized conferences worldwide in partnership with the European Union, Inter-American Development Bank, Nordic Council of Ministers, United Nations, World Bank, and other governments.
