NRDC Action Fund

The NRDC Action Fund is an American 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. It is affiliated with the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), overseen by its Center for Campaigns & Organizing (CC&O).[1]

History

On August 7, 2013, the NRDC Action Fund registered the NRDC Action Fund PAC with the Federal Election Commission (FEC).[2] The PAC was formally launched in 2014.[3]

On April 14, 2014, the NRDC Action Fund launched LeadingGreen, a collaboration with the League of Conservation Voters to "steer donations to federal candidates and enlist the help of major donors in lobbying elected officials."[4] It also set a goal to raise $5 million for LCV Action Fund's GiveGreen program with support from the NRDC Action Fund PAC.[5]

2020 presidential election

In 2020, the NRDC Action Fund launched NRDC Action Votes, a super PAC "that produces and promotes paid content to targeted voters in support of pro-environment candidates."[3:1]

2024 presidential election

On April 19, 2024, the NRDC Action Fund published an open letter calling on Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to drop out of the 2024 United States presidential election.[6]
