Global Coalition for Value in Healthcare

The Global Coalition for Value in Healthcare (GCfViHC or GCVH) is an international public-private partnership hosted by the World Economic Forum (WEF). It is part of the Centre for Health and Healthcare.^[1]

History

In July 2016, the World Economic Forum and the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) partnered to launch the Value in Healthcare Project, running until 2018. This resulted in the creation of the Global Coalition for Value in Healthcare.^[2][3] The coalition was launched in January 2019 at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2019 in Davos, Switzerland.^[1:1][2:1]

Alberta Health Services (AHS) announced on July 2, 2020, that it had been invited to join the coalition "to play a role in shaping future healthcare on the international stage."^[4]

In October 2022, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith stated that she would pull AHS out of its consulting agreement with the WEF.^[5]
