Chinese Urgent Action Working Group
The Chinese Urgent Action Working Group (中国维权紧急援助组), also known as China Action, was a non-governmental organization based in Beijing, China. It now operates as Safeguard Defenders based out of Madrid, Spain.
History
China Action was founded in early 2009 by Michael Caster and Peter Dahlin.[1][2][3]
In 2016, the Government of China shut down China Action and forced Dahlin to relocate to Madrid.[4]
Funding
China Action was funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and the European Union.[5]
