Canada Research Continuity Emergency Fund

The Canada Research Continuity Emergency Fund (CRCEF) is a Canadian federal government funding program. It is administered by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) on behalf of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and SSHRC. The Canada Research Coordinating Committee (CRCC) provides strategic oversight for the program and approves awards, while the Tri-agency Institutional Programs Secretariat (TIPS) provides administration.[1]

History

On May 15, 2020, the Government of Canada announced the Canada Research Continuity Emergency Fund (CRCEF), "a temporary program" which was "established to help sustain the research enterprise at Canadian universities and affiliated health research institutions affected by the COVID-19 pandemic."[1:1]
